Responsibilities

  • Lead all accounting and financial reporting activities across multiple entities, including individuals, trusts, partnerships, LLCs, and investment holding companies.
  • Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including preparation of consolidated financial statements.
  • Manage all aspects of tax compliance by coordinating with external tax advisors and reviewing federal, state, and local tax returns, K-1s, estimated tax payments, and supporting work papers.
  • Serve as the primary internal resource for complex tax matters affecting the family office, ensuring timely compliance and identifying tax planning opportunities.
  • Oversee intercompany accounting, capital accounts, distributions, cash management, and entity-level financial activity.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate accounting records in accordance with GAAP and family office reporting requirements.
  • Prepare financial analyses, dashboards, cash flow forecasts, and reporting packages for the CFO and family principals.
  • Partner with legal, tax, investment, and estate planning advisors on entity formation, restructuring, transactions, and ongoing compliance.
  • Develop and improve accounting policies, internal controls, and financial processes to support the continued growth of the family office.
  • Assist with audits, financial reviews, banking relationships, and special projects as needed.
Qualifications
  • CPA required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with significant tax experience required.
  • Strong expertise in partnership, trust, individual, and multi-entity taxation.
  • Experience reviewing complex tax returns, K-1s, estimated tax calculations, and coordinating with outside tax advisors.
  • Extensive experience preparing consolidated financial statements and managing intercompany accounting.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience developing financial models and management reporting.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a confidential environment.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a hands-on, entrepreneurial family office setting.
