Our client is a respected institution in the higher education sector seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to join their collaborative finance team located in Boston, MA. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the accounts payable function, managing staff, and ensuring accurate and timely payment processing while supporting continuous process improvement initiatives.

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable department
- Supervise, mentor, and develop AP staff while fostering a collaborative team environment
- Oversee invoice processing, payment runs, employee reimbursements, and vendor management activities
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, internal controls, and accounting standards
- Review and approve invoice coding, payment batches, and vendor account reconciliations
- Partner with departments across the organization to resolve payment issues and improve workflows
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, audits, and financial reporting requirements
- Identify and implement process improvements, system enhancements, and best practices within the AP function
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience, including supervisory or management responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, internal controls, and financial systems
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skillsfo9
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and ERP/accounting systems
- Experience with Workday Financials or similar ERP systems preferred
- Prior experience in higher education, nonprofit, or other complex organizational environments is a plus
