Senior Technical Revenue Accountant

As a Senior Technical Revenue Accountant, you will be a key contributor to the Company’s revenue accounting function, serving as a subject‑matter expert on complex revenue recognition matters under ASC 606
. This role will partner closely with Sales, Legal, Deal Desk, FP&A, Operations, and Technology teams to evaluate customer contracts, determine appropriate accounting treatment, and ensure accurate and compliant revenue reporting.

What You’ll Do
  • Serve as a technical accounting resource for revenue recognition matters, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 and other applicable accounting guidance
  • Review and analyze customer contracts, amendments, renewals, and non‑standard deal structures to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment
  • Prepare and document technical accounting memos for complex revenue transactions, including multiple‑element arrangements, variable consideration, contract modifications, professional services, and licensing agreements
  • Partner with Sales, Legal, Deal Desk, and Operations teams during contract negotiations to assess accounting implications and provide guidance on deal structuring
  • Own the monthly and quarterly revenue close process, including preparation and review of revenue, deferred revenue, commissions, and related journal entries
  • Perform detailed reconciliations, flux analyses, and account reviews to ensure completeness and accuracy of reported revenue
  • Support the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of revenue accounting systems, automation tools, and ERP integrations
  • Develop and maintain revenue recognition policies, procedures, and internal control documentation
  • Execute and enhance SOX controls related to revenue accounting and ensure compliance with internal control requirements
  • Support external audits by preparing schedules, technical analyses, and responding to auditor inquiries
  • Analyze and communicate the financial impact of new products, pricing models, business initiatives, and evolving accounting standards
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency, scalability, and reporting accuracy
  • Collaborate with FP&A and executive leadership on revenue forecasting, reporting, and key performance metrics
  • Participate in special projects, acquisitions, system implementations, and other strategic finance initiatives as needed
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA required or strongly preferred
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience from Public Accounting
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and experience applying revenue recognition guidance to complex customer arrangements
  • Experience drafting technical accounting memorandums and supporting accounting conclusions for auditors and management
  • Experience operating within SOX‑controlled environments and supporting external audits
  • Advanced Excel skills with proficiency in ERP systems such as Net Suite, Oracle, SAP, or similar platforms
  • Experience with revenue automation platforms such as Net Suite ARM, Zuora, Rev Pro, or similar tools is preferred
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with a high degree of attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex accounting concepts to both finance and non‑finance stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and drive projects to successful completion
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a passion for process optimization and scalable financial operations

Base Salary: $100,000 - $130,000
