Revenue Manager

Overview

The Revenue Manager is a senior accounting and finance leader responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant, and scalable revenue practices while partnering with the business to support growth. This role emphasizes technical revenue accounting, ASC 606 compliance, audit readiness, and team leadership, balancing hands-on execution with oversight and cross-functional influence.

Key Responsibilities

Own revenue recognition and accounting under ASC 606, including complex contracts, variable consideration, and multi-element arrangements.

  • Develop and maintain revenue accounting policies, procedures, and technical memos in accordance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting guidelines.
  • Review customer contracts in partnership with Sales and Legal to assess accounting implications and ensure proper revenue treatment.
  • Prepare and oversee accurate revenue reporting, reconciliations, and analyses for management and financial statements.
  • Lead revenue-related audit preparation, including support for internal and external audits and regulator inquiries.
  • Strengthen revenue controls, processes, and systems to ensure accuracy, scalability, and compliance.
  • Leverage SAP and Advanced Excel to manage data integrity, reporting, and analysis.
  • Monitor revenue performance and partner with FP&A on forecasts and variance analysis.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor a small accounting or revenue team, setting priorities, reviewing work, and developing talent.
  • Serve as a cross-functional leader and subject matter expert for revenue accounting across Finance, Sales, Legal, and Operations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA required; public accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in revenue accounting, technical accounting, or revenue management.
  • Deep expertise in ASC 606, revenue disclosures, and audit support.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Proven experience managing and developing small teams.
  • Strong technical judgment, attention to detail, and ability to translate accounting guidance into business practices.
