Senior International Accountant Role Summary

The Senior International Accountant oversees global accounting operations for international subsidiaries, including financial close, intercompany accounting, and compliance with indirect tax and statutory reporting requirements. This role partners closely with third-party service providers and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting, while playing a meaningful role in scaling a global finance function in a high-growth environment. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, experience managing multiple entities, knowledge of international indirect tax, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities International Accounting & Financial Close
  • Oversee month-end close activities for international subsidiaries, including coordination of accounts payable and payroll processes.
  • Maintain full accountability of subsidiary P&L and Balance Sheet accuracy, including review of account reconciliations and comprehensive analysis of monthly financial variances.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance to subsidiary teams and external service providers to ensure consistent application of US GAAP and company policies.
Intercompany & Global Coordination
  • Manage the intercompany accounting process, ensuring timely reconciliation and balancing of intercompany accounts across entities.
  • Serve as primary liaison with international third-party accounting providers, holding partners accountable for performance, accuracy, and adherence to deadlines.
Compliance & Reporting
  • Oversee compliance with international indirect tax and statutory filing requirements, including VAT and import/export filings across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Support annual audits with U.S. and international external auditors.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
Process Optimization & Strategic Initiatives
  • Leverage AI tools and agents to optimize accounting workflows, automate routine processes and drive operational efficiency
  • Establish and promote best practices across international accounting operations
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • 5+ years of progressive general ledger or international accounting experience.
  • Experience with multi-entity environments and intercompany accounting strongly preferred.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Solid understanding of international indirect tax frameworks and compliance requirements.
  • Advanced Excel skills, and experience with ERP systems (e.g., Net Suite). Experience with Avalara or other Tax engines is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Self-driven, independent, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across global teams.
Compensation

Base Salary – $90,000– $115,000

The base salary range reflects the full range for this position at Wasabi Technologies. At Wasabi, we believe in paying fairly and competitively, and individual compensation is determined based on factors such as job-related experience, skills, location, and internal equity. Base pay is just one part of our total rewards approach. Depending on role eligibility, Wasabi team members may also receive additional compensation and benefits, including bonus or variable compensation, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package designed to support both professional growth and personal well-being.
