The Senior Associate, Accounting supports the overall Americas Controllership team, focusing on the end-to-end intercompany lifecycle, including internal agreement administration, billing, month-end close, partner balance reconciliation, and issue resolution. This role primarily helps ensure intercompany transactions are accurate, timely, compliant with company policies, and supported by complete documentation. In addition, this role would assist the overall Controllership team with general accounting, audit support, and other activities as needed.
Working across Finance, operational teams, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, shared services, the Senior Associate investigates discrepancies, resolves outstanding items, strengthens financial controls, and identifies opportunities to improve intercompany processes.
- Manage intercompany agreements, including drafting, reviewing, routing, tracking, and maintaining documentation in accordance with internal controls and company policies.
- Support the intercompany billing cycle, from reviewing contract terms and supporting data through invoice preparation, approval, recording, and follow-up.
- Perform monthly intercompany reporting, account reconciliation, balance confirmation, and adjustment activities.
- Investigate the root causes of intercompany discrepancies, communicate findings clearly, and drive outstanding items to timely resolution.
- Partner with intercompany contacts and operational Finance teams to confirm balances, resolve differences, and maintain effective working relationships.
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, shared services, and other Finance teams to resolve billing, settlement, and aging issues.
- Prepare journal entries and contribute to an accurate and timely month-end close.
- Support internal and external audit requests.
- Provide financial analysis to support reporting, decision-making, and the identification of trends, risks, and recurring issues.
- Identify opportunities to streamline operations, strengthen controls, and improve the accuracy and efficiency of accounting processes.
- Assist with implementing and documenting new or revised procedures.
- Support acquisitions, integrations, and other organizational changes by helping align intercompany billing, reporting, and accounting processes.
- Contribute to ad hoc projects and cross-functional initiatives as business needs evolve.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least three years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience working within a large, complex, international organization.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to manage deadline-driven responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and an understanding of IFRS accounting principles.
- Experience with intercompany accounting, billing, reconciliations, or financial close activities.
- Experience using SAP.
- Experience using Hyperion Financial Management or comparable financial reporting systems.
- Experience supporting process improvements, integrations, or finance transformation initiatives.
Pay Range: $70,000 - $85,000
The range shown represents a grouping of relevant ranges currently in use at Publicis Sapient. Actual range for this position may differ, depending on location and specific skillset required for the work itself.
