Position OverviewSeeking a detail-oriented and motivated accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations for a growing real estate portfolio. This role offers hands-on exposure to property-level accounting, cash management, and collaboration with operations teams. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and comfortable managing recurring deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Record and monitor weekly banking activity
- Prepare or assist with Common Area Maintenance (CAM) and operating expense reconciliations for commercial properties
- Variance analysis — compare actual results to budget and explain significant income or expense variances
- Support commercial and utility billing processes
- Allocate expenses to the appropriate property and general ledger accounts
- Process recurring and bulk transaction imports
- Prepare and post recurring journal entries, including payroll allocations, management fees, and income allocations
- Prepare and review third-party monthly income statements, balance sheets, cash-flow reports, and property-level financial packages
- Process intercompany and inter-property reclassifications as needed
- Maintain supporting schedules and internal tracking spreadsheets
- Partner with property management and leasing teams
- Participate in team meetings and support special projects as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3-5 years of accounting experience
- Real estate or property management experience preferred
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Yardi experience strongly preferred
