My client in MA is seeking a Senior Accountant for its corporate team. The organization is a multi-billion-dollar publicly traded biotechnology company.
Currently, the Accounting & Finance group is predominantly remote, but this person must live in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, or Rhode Island area & within commutable distance North of Boston.
Qualified applicants must have the following:
- Local to driving distance North of Boston (MA, NH, or RI)
- Minimum 3 years of experience
- Minimum 1 year of Senior experience
- Top 8 national public accounting background
- Experience supporting large, sophisticated clientele with large revenue streams
Compensation is $110-120K + 10% bonus + 4 weeks PTO + 401K Match + benefits
Position OverviewThe Senior Accountant will be responsible for the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting processes related to employee benefits and research and development, including the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations, as well as fluctuation analyses.
Responsibilities- Support monthly close and internal reporting process by preparing journal entries and account reconciliations for paid as well as accrued employee benefits and research and development
- Assist in ensuring that financial statements are in compliance with US GAAP
- Analyze monthly and quarterly fluctuations in employee benefit expenses and balance sheet accounts
- Assist with completion of internal controls associated with areas of responsibility
- Develop and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes
- Provide support to General Accounting group with operational analysis as related to recurring transactions and the monthly account reconciliation process
- Provide support for accounting for new business initiatives
- Assist with various projects and accounting matters and drive value within the business
- Performs other duties as required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, MSA / MBA a plus
- 3-4 years of public accounting and / or corporate experience at SEC registered entities
