Payroll Administrator
Transdev in City, State is hiring a Payroll Administrator. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for administering and processing payroll activities, maintaining employee payroll records, supporting workforce administration functions, and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. This position works closely with the General Manager, Operations leadership, Human Resources, and Regional Finance teams to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees.

- Process weekly, bi-weekly, or semi-monthly payroll accurately and in accordance with company policies and payroll deadlines.
- Review, audit, and enter employee timekeeping records, attendance, overtime, vacation, sick leave, and other payroll-related data.
- Maintain employee payroll records and personnel files while ensuring compliance with confidentiality requirements.
- Process new hire, transfer, status change, and termination documentation and coordinate with Human Resources and Regional Payroll teams.
- Verify payroll calculations including earnings, deductions, garnishments, benefits, and tax with holdings.
- Assist in tracking attendance and scheduling information for hourly and part-time employees.
- Support managers in monitoring overtime trends and identifying opportunities to reduce unnecessary labor costs.
- Prepare payroll reports and reconcile payroll records to ensure accuracy.
- Assist with fare reconciliation, cash handling, deposits, and other accounting-related functions as required.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries professionally and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with FLSA, wage and hour regulations, union agreements (if applicable), and company payroll policies.
- Maintain payroll documentation for audits and reporting purposes.
- Provide administrative support to the General Manager and leadership team as needed.
- Perform other duties as required.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of payroll, accounting, bookkeeping, administrative, or related experience.
- Experience processing payroll and maintaining confidential employee records.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong data entry, mathematical, and recordkeeping skills.
- Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
- Experience with payroll processing systems, Kronos, UKG, ADP, Paycom, or similar platforms.
- Experience working in unionized and/or transportation environments.
- Knowledge of payroll tax regulations, wage and hour compliance, and labor agreements.
- Must maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling employee information.
- Subject to a DOT drug test and physical if applicable.
- DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.
- Frequently required to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
- Regular use of a computer, keyboard, calculator, and other standard office equipment.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically.
- Work environment may consist of both office and operational settings, including indoor and outdoor areas.
