Location: Boston, MA
Schedule: 4 days onsite per week, with flexibility around start/end times
Compensation: Up to $75/hour
Duration: November through April (retention bonus thru 4/30)
A rapidly growing, venture-backed technology company in Boston is seeking an Accounting Consultant to support its accounting operations and systems initiatives during a period of continued growth.
This is a hands-on opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys a mix of general accounting, month-end close, process improvement, and systems work
. The role will have visibility across the organization and the opportunity to make an impact on accounting processes and technology.
Responsibilities
- Own a variety of month-end account reconciliations, including prepaids, accruals, and fixed assets
- Perform daily cash activity reviews and reconciliations
- Review and process employee expense reports
- Draft and review accounts payable payments
- Perform transaction matching and research discrepancies
- Support general accounting and special projects as needed
- Serve as an accounting point of contact for cross-functional teams
- Assist with data transfers and integrations between financial systems
- Support accounting systems improvements, automation, and process enhancements
- Assist with external audit requests during the winter/spring audit cycle
- Help identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and system functionality
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Solid understanding of month-end close and account reconciliations
- Strong Excel and general accounting skills
- Experience working with accounting systems or ERP implementations is highly valued
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience with inventory, manufacturing, or product-based businesses is preferred but not required
