The National Tay-Sachs & Allied Diseases Association (NTSAD) is one of the nation’s oldest patient advocacy organizations. We support individuals and families affected by ultra-rare genetic diseases, specifically Tay-Sachs, Canavan, GM1, and Sandhoff. Our mission is to drive research, build community, and provide unwavering support to families navigating these devastating diagnoses.
The RoleWe’re seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Development Assistant to support our small and collaborative team. This on-site position plays an essential role in ensuring smooth development operations and creating a positive, meaningful experience for our families and donors.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate donor records in our CRM (Donor Perfect)
- Process donations and digital deposits
- Generate reports and oversee acknowledgement letters and donor correspondence
- Providing accountant with periodic batch reports
- Assist in planning and coordination for our Annual Family Conference and signature fundraising event, Imagine & Believe, including volunteer management
- Provide warm, responsive support to families and donors when responding to phone and email inquiries
- Send personalized donor communications
- Assist with general office operations, mail processing, and vendor coordination
- 1+ year of administrative or development experience (nonprofit preferred)
- Comprehensive familiarity with diverse philanthropic giving methods as well as accurate recording and acknowledgement of all gift types to ensure IRS and audit compliance
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with donor databases (CRM) preferred
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Friendly, professional demeanor with a customer-service mindset
- Bachelor's degree preferred (relevant work experience may suffice)
- Experience with Donor Perfect or similar CRM
- Familiarity with social media platforms and/or Word Press
- Flexible schedule within Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
- Ability to attend NTSAD’s events such as the annual fundraising event and family conference
$21.00 - $22.00/hour
