About the Role
The Development Associate (DA) supports the Major Gifts team at Boston University, providing administrative, data, and event planning assistance to at least two Major Gift Officers. The role focuses on database management, prospect analytics, and high‑level development event support to help secure significant resources for the university’s priorities.
Position Responsibilities- Database Management & Prospect Analytics (40%)
Build and maintain a roster for Major Gift Outreach, coordinate with prospect management teams, run reports and lists in Blackbaud eCRM, and supply the MG team with weekly/monthly prospecting reports. Execute at least two large prospecting reports per fiscal year.
- Regional Coordination and Administrative Support (30%)
Establish and maintain filing systems, conduct donor database reporting, manage calendars and travel, process expenses, attend meetings, and provide basic data integrity checks for donor records.
- High Level Development Events Planning Support (30%)
Assist with planning, execution, and follow‑up of high‑level development events, including logistics, vendor coordination, event materials, and post‑event follow‑up and outreach.
- Three to five years of experience and a bachelor’s degree.
- Advanced written communication, analytical, collaborative, and project management skills.
- Strong computer, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent calendar management abilities.
- Proficiency with a constituent database (e.g., Blackbaud eCRM).
- Responsible handling of confidential material and professional interaction with a wide spectrum of individuals.

Salary: $55,000 – $65,000 (range estimate).
