SENIOR PROGRAM COORDINATOR, Auxiliary, Office of Housing
The person in this position is responsible for the operation of a furniture warehouse and the delivery of furniture and appliances to university residences. They oversee a crew of 6–10 students who deliver furniture to approximately 200 student residences. The role includes managing vending services, which involves the distribution of Micro Fridges and Safes during the academic year and summer. The coordinator must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.,
organize prompt delivery of furniture and appliances, dispatch student staff with furniture and appliances in an orderly and cost‑efficient manner, and oversee the appropriate maintenance, parking, and cleanliness of two box trucks. Responsibilities also include determining the status of furniture and appliances for disposal, donation, or reuse; receiving deliveries from vendors and verifying quantity and quality; maintaining inventory records; conducting monthly physical inventory;
and informing the supervisor of inventory levels. The coordinator coordinates barcoding of furniture and appliances in residences, processes furniture requests for the central warehouse, and organizes and supports operations during busy periods such as move‑in/out and cyclical projects. Support is provided to the Assistant Director with summer projects of residence halls, and the coordinator oversees and conducts damage billing with student staff.
At the end of each semester, the coordinator visits empty rooms to inspect overall condition. Additional duties include managing all vending services operations, distributing Micro Fridges/Safes, TVs, managing laundry facilities in residential buildings, and overseeing the UPS storage program. The role is also responsible for managing the vending service account and responding to emails, calls, website inquiries, and budget matters.
The coordinator oversees, trains, supervises, and evaluates student staff who assist in moving and delivering furniture and appliances.
High School Diploma/GED, Associates degree preferred, must have experience and the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs., move heavy furniture, appliances, equipment, and supplies, and five to eight years of related work experience.
