A Massachusetts state agency is seeking a reliable Data Entry Clerk to support its administrative operations in a fast‑paced office environment. This is a 3–6 month contract position located onsite in Downtown Boston
, Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in a professional government office while developing valuable administrative skills.
In this role, you'll be responsible for accurately entering and updating data, reviewing documents for completeness, maintaining electronic records, and supporting various administrative projects. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, organized, and has strong written communication skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
Required Skills & Experience0–3 years of administrative or data entry experience
Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent written communication and grammar skills
Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively
Strong time management and organizational skills
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous office, clerical, or customer service experience
Experience working with databases or document management systems
Familiarity with government or public sector environments
Associate's degree is a plus
Enter, update, and verify data in internal databases and systems
Review documents for completeness and accuracy
Maintain electronic and paper records
Prepare correspondence and administrative documents
Assist with filing, scanning, and document management
Respond to internal requests and provide administrative support
Complete additional clerical duties as assigned
70% Data entry, record updates, and document processing
20% Administrative support, filing, scanning, and correspondence
10% Team collaboration and special projects
$20–21/hour
3–6 Month Contract
