Job Location:
Boston, MA 02116 Duration – 03 Months Client - Boston Medical Center Healthnet Plan (BMCHP)
Qualifications:
- Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent required plus 1 to 3 years related experience - Preferred/Desirable:
Some college is preferred
Experience:
- 1-3 years of related clerical experience is required
- Preferred/Desirable:
Basic Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) experience is preferred.
Certification or Conditions of Employment:
- Pre-employment background check
Competencies, Skills, and Attributes:
- Detail oriented; skill in filing, sorting, entering, or posting data.
- Basic reading, writing, arithmetic, and proof reading skills.
- A willingness to learn, follow directions and work compatibly with others.
- Basic courtesy and effective usage of English language to read, write, and express ideas orally.
- Skill in operating/using standard office machines/equipment (e.g. copy machine, word processor.)
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the position.
- Ability to work OT during peak periods.
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- No or very limited physical effort required. No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
- Routine office environment; may be required to move or lift materials up to 25lbs.
• Performs routine sorting, counting, coding, organizing, dating, batching, research, or cross referencing requiring limited discretion in carrying assignments. Checks own work to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Performs filing, prepares labels, and maintains and updates files according to standardized procedures.
• Performs simple/routine typing, transferring or copying of information.
• Addresses letters or packages, and distributes or re-directs mail.
• Performs photocopying and faxing, according to instructions.
• Types and accurately enters data, following specific written or verbal instructions.
• Retrieves and/or delivers files or other information.
• Prepares and assembles materials, according to instructions.
• May answer phones and/or provide reception.
• May distribute or replenish inventory or supplies; may lift or move materials.
• Maintains and updates logs, files or records and posts or enters data.
• Follows procedures to look up, locate and retrieve information, and maintains or updates records and files.
• Organizes or sorts information alphabetically or numerically; compiles and checks for accuracy and/or conformity. Learns and meets quality and productivity standards.
• May complete forms or prepare basic correspondence as directed.
