Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:45 AM–5:00 PM

Job Summary

Sigma Inc. is seeking a dependable, professional, and service-oriented Receptionist to support the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Department of Children and Families (DCF), in Boston. The ideal candidate will be organized, approachable, proactive, and committed to providing excellent customer service while serving as the welcoming first point of contact for staff and visitors.

This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage administrative tasks, coordinate meeting information, maintain directories, and assist with day-to-day office operations in a professional government environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of agencies and departments within the building to effectively assist staff and visitors.
  • Stay informed about DCF daily meetings and designated conference room usage.
  • Create, maintain, and update a centralized calendar for meetings and events.
  • Maintain and regularly update the agency phone directory and contact lists.
  • Replace copier toner and assist with basic copier troubleshooting as needed.
  • Provide general administrative support and assist other departments with ad hoc tasks.
  • Answer the DCF main switchboard promptly, courteously, and professionally.
  • Ensure visitors and callers receive a welcoming, helpful, and professional experience.
  • Represent the department with a polished, professional appearance and a proactive attitude.
  • Support daily office operations and assist wherever needed.

  • Ability to work onsite Monday–Friday, 8:45 AM–5:00 PM.
