Heritage Engineering Platform – VP of Operations

Location:

Remote/hybrid with travel to HH office in Boston and to partner company locations

Compensation:
Commensurate with experience and will include a significant equity stake

Role Overview

We are a high-growth, national engineering services provider scaling towards $10M EBITDA target by the end of 2026. We have a dedicated team of ~40 employees and are looking to scale quickly into a premier national market leader.

This role is designed for a strong operations leader who is eager to take on meaningful responsibility within a growing organization. The VP of Operations will help drive consistency, clarity, and operational rigor across the platform while staying close to the details of engineering delivery, systems, and day-to-day execution.

You will work closely with business owners and senior leaders to help translate strategy into execution, improve decision-making, and implement the systems and processes needed to support long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide hands‑on operational leadership across the platform including supporting acquisition integration, strengthening decision‑making processes, and improving systems.
  • Serve as a problem‑solver who addresses organizational, operational, and systems‑related challenges.
  • Partner with business owners to support day‑to‑day operations and platform‑wide scaling initiatives.
  • Help define and execute a shared engineering and operational playbook across the platform.
  • Support the evaluation, selection, and rollout of core business systems, including ERP and other operational platforms.
  • Bring structure and clarity to processes, reporting, and performance management without removing autonomy at the company level.
  • Act as a trusted thought partner to senior leadership on strategy, systems, and operational decisions.
  • Balance the need for consistency with the flexibility required for each business to perform at a high level.

Qualifications
  • Experience driving initiatives in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Experience supporting or participating in system implementations (ERP, project management, financial, or operating tools).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to translate data into action.
  • MBA preferred; other formal business training is a plus.
  • Experience supporting founders or business owners strongly preferred.
  • Background in multi‑entity, platform, or PE‑backed environments is a plus.
