This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and make a significant impact in the life sciences community. The BDM will drive new business for next-generation life science research tools across the Northeast/Midwest regions. This role focuses on developing new customer relationships, expanding market presence, and closing capital equipment sales. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a hunger for success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and target potential customers in academic, biotech, pharma, and industrial research environments.
  • Conduct outbound outreach, including calls, emails, conferences, and regional events.
  • Build and nurture relationships through consistent engagement.
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities with accurate forecasting.
  • Prioritise and advance opportunities to ensure efficient sales cycles.
  • Develop and execute strategies to increase capital equipment sales and grow consumables revenue.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve mutually beneficial agreements.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience selling capital equipment in research tools, proteomics, sequencing, or related markets.
  • Existing relationships within pharma, biotech, and academic research preferred.
  • Proven success in prospecting, lead generation, and exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong hunter mentality; self-motivated and goal-driven.
  • Adaptable and comfortable in fast-growing or startup environments.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to travel 60–80% across the assigned region.
  • Ideally based in the Northeast or Midwest
