A Top 25 national CPA and advisory firm is seeking a Life Sciences Senior Audit Manager to join its growing assurance practice. This role will focus on serving clients across the life sciences sector, including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, diagnostics, digital health, and other emerging healthcare-related companies. The position offers exposure to venture-backed, publicly traded, and pre-commercial organizations at various stages of growth.

Responsibilities
  • Lead audit and assurance engagements for life sciences clients, including biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, and healthcare technology companies.
  • Manage all phases of the audit process, including planning, risk assessment, execution, review, and delivery of financial statements.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, building strong relationships with CFOs, Controllers, and executive leadership teams.
  • Review complex accounting matters including revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, debt/equity arrangements, fair value measurements, and technical accounting issues.
  • Oversee financial statement audits under U.S. GAAP and support SEC reporting requirements, including Forms 10-K and 10-Q, where applicable.
  • Collaborate with internal technical accounting and specialty advisory teams to address complex client matters.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop audit staff and managers while supporting team growth and engagement quality.
  • Participate in practice development initiatives and contribute to strengthening the firm’s presence within the life sciences and emerging growth market.
Requirements
  • CPA required.
  • 7+ years of public accounting audit experience, including significant experience serving life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, or healthcare-related clients.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and audit methodology.
  • Experience with SEC reporting and public company audits preferred.
  • Knowledge of technical accounting areas relevant to life sciences companies, including revenue recognition, equity compensation, debt arrangements, and fair value accounting.
  • Experience managing multiple engagements and leading client relationships.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and team development skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work directly with executive leadership and high-growth companies.
