Role SummaryIn this position you will design and lead the global alliance management strategy for the Oncology Therapeutic Area. You will build and mentor a high‑performing team of alliance managers and partner with Oncology, Business Development, R&D, Legal, Finance, and other cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure disciplined execution and maximum partnership value across the discovery, development, and commercialization continuum.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee a complex portfolio of research, clinical development, and commercial partnerships led by a team of alliance managers.
- Directly manage high‑value partnerships determined by strategic importance.
- Provide strategic leadership by operationalizing alliances, embedding effectiveness, setting metrics, mitigating risk, and facilitating growth.
- Manage partnership governance, risk mitigation, and contract amendments jointly with Business Development.
- Build and maintain relationships across the organization and with external partners to ensure alignment and value creation.
- Influence senior leaders and cross‑functional teams to operationalize new deals, balance risk, and establish governance frameworks that maximize collaboration value.
- Coordinate and present impact reports on status, risks, and recommendations for senior leadership.
- Collaborate with other alliance leaders to elevate partnership strategy, develop standards for excellence, and drive continuous improvement across R&D.
- Lead people management, onboarding, training, and mentor alliance managers to grow capabilities.
- In‑depth knowledge of drug discovery, development, and commercialization processes.
- Proven leadership in managing matrixed global teams, influencing outcomes, and strategic problem‑solving.
- Strong business acumen and ability to navigate ambiguity and complexity.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience influencing senior leaders, managing conflict, and driving decisions across cross‑functional global teams.
- Ability to represent Takeda’s interests and maximize partnership value.
- BS/BA required; advanced degree (MBA, MD, PhD, PharmD) preferred.
- Professional certification in alliance management (CA‑AM) desirable.
- 10+ years of alliance management experience in global pharmaceutical or biotech development.
- 5+ years of direct people management and experience leading global matrix teams.
- Experience managing cross‑functional project teams with timeline and budget responsibility.
- Experience working in a global environment with strong collaboration.
- Ability to influence without authority and resolve conflict.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Relevant Oncology therapeutic area experience.

U.S. Base Salary Range: $ – $.
