SYSO is seeking a Business Development Manager (BDM) to support the growth of the company by enrolling new clients and projects for our market operations platform. As a BDM you will be building and maintaining a pipeline of potential new business relationships. You will be working closely with your colleagues in finance, operations, technology, and energy markets to qualify, structure, and execute new engagements that deliver lasting value for the Company and its clients.

At SYSO, we manage the real‑time energy market operations and monitoring of renewables and battery storage assets. Our Network Operations Center works 24/7 to execute day‑to‑day asset operations, respond to grid and system events, and optimize performance through centralized control systems. The team develops operating strategies, manages telemetry and voice communication with grid operators and partners, and coordinates with stakeholders to ensure consistent and reliable performance.

Description About the Role

As part of a small sales team in a growing startup you will:

  • Research new market opportunities and prospect new relationships
  • Attend industry conferences and networking events
  • Maintain up to date information in our CRM
  • Schedule meetings with new and existing clients
  • Craft proposals for commercial engagements and facilitate contract negotiations
  • Orchestrate the handoff of new business to delivery teams
Requirements
  • Demonstrated success in a business development or sales role in the energy industry
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
  • Passion for teamwork, customer service, and clean energy
  • Eagerness to continuously learn in a complex and changing business environment
  • Fluency with Salesforce and Microsoft Excel
  • Bachelor’s Degree
Desired Skills & Qualifications
  • MBA or other graduate education
  • Experience with one or more of the following: renewable energy and storage project development, project finance, energy asset management, energy asset operations, or wholesale market participation
