Position: Investment Writer – Putnam Investments - 0624

Role Overview

The Investment Writer is responsible for delivering timely, accurate, and compelling content to support Putnam’s business development activities across global audiences. The role involves developing and maintaining equity strategy content for RFPs, DDQs, consultant databases, and other client-facing materials, ensuring alignment with Putnam’s messaging, and collaborating closely with internal partners to meet client needs and deadlines.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain core content across Putnam’s equity strategies for use in RFPs, DDQs, and consultant database platforms.
  • Ensure content is accurate, consistent, and aligns with Putnam’s broader messaging.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to keep qualitative and quantitative information up to date, differentiated from competitors, and tailored to institutional and intermediary audiences.
  • Work with stakeholders including RFP writers, client service, portfolio managers, operations, legal, compliance, and distribution teams.
  • Help oversee implementation of product updates, launches, and investment management changes.
  • Assist the Content team with monthly, quarterly, and annual updates to marketing materials such as pitchbooks, product commentaries, and other collateral.
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of writing experience in the asset‑management industry with a focus on investment product content for RFPs, DDQs, and external client requests.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills; able to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and familiar with content database systems such as Seismic and Qvidian.
  • First‑rate verbal and written communication skills, strong proofreading ability.
  • Strong research and analysis skills with meticulous attention to detail in data, language, grammar, layout, and presentation.
  • Ability to interact professionally at all levels and across multiple cultures.
  • Flexible and adaptable, thriving in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
  • Broad product knowledge across equity investment styles (or ability to acquire this knowledge quickly) is highly desired.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
Work Schedule & Location

Hybrid schedule. Preferred location:
Boston with at least 4 days in office.

Compensation

Annual salary range of $95,000 to $130,000, plus an annual discretionary bonus. Base pay is based on location and relevant experience.
