Role Summary
The Associate Director, US Corporate Strategy reports directly to the Director, Head of US Corporate Strategy and is a high-impact member of the CSDO (Corporate Strategy, Development & Operations) leadership team. This role serves as a thought partner to senior leaders across Commercial, Medical, Finance, Insights & Analytics, and Development, helping translate strategy into action across the U.S. portfolio. This role is designed for a highly agile strategist who can rapidly build depth in Servier's disease areas, anticipate opportunities and risks in business performance, and synthesize complexity into clear, executive-ready insights.
The Associate Director will both lead independent work streams end-to-end and orchestrate cross-functional teams to drive growth, inform key decisions, and shape the future of Servier in the U.S.
Primary Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Enterprise Impact
Support the end-to-end design, coordination, and continuous improvement of Servier Pharmaceuticals' U.S. strategic planning cycle and core enterprise deliverables
Rapidly build fluency across Servier's disease areas and portfolio priorities to ensure strategies are grounded in scientific, clinical, and commercial realities
Lead discrete work streams by owning problem framing, hypothesis development, workplan design, cross functional engagement, and final synthesis. Demonstrate strong strategic judgment by identifying growth opportunities, trade-offs, and risks to business performance, clearly surfacing implications for leadership decision-making
Strategic & Resourcing Insight
Pressure test forecasts and resourcing plans to ensure alignment with US priorities, vision and goals. Proactively identify risks, sensitivities, and inflection points in performance
Lead development of high impact executive presentations that distill rigorous analysis into focused recommendations and decision pathways
Generate opportunity assessments and business cases (e.g., ROI, NPV, breakeven analysis)
High Priority Strategic Projects
Lead and support cross functional strategic initiatives sponsored by the U.S. Leadership Team, often in ambiguous, fast-moving environments. Own projects end-to-end, including scoping, framing, analytics, storyline development, decision enablement, and implementation tracking. Leverage market, competitive, and internal data to generate insights; design and facilitate strategic workshops; and develop clear, actionable recommendations with well-articulated risks and assumptions
Continuously scan for and ideate on transformation and growth opportunities that can strengthen Servier's U.S. performance and long-term position
CSDO Team Leadership & Culture
Actively engage with CSDO colleagues to ensure the team operates with speed, clarity, and high standards of excellence. Model Servier's tenets by demonstrating curiosity, agility, accountability, and a bias toward action. Support team offsites, goal setting, and budget tracking. Be a visible contributor to a collaborative, transparent, and intellectually rigorous team culture
Candidate Profile
Education and Required Skills
Undergraduate degree with business and science focus, graduate degree (MBA, PhD) preferred
7+ years of professional work experience, ideally in both strategy consulting and a strategic role in the life sciences industry
Strong learning agility with the ability to quickly develop expertise in new disease areas and business contexts
Excellent problem-solving skills, with comfort preparing research and data analysis to support business recommendations
Demonstrated ability to synthesize complexity into crisp, executive level narratives
Experience leading through influence and gaining alignment without authority
Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including with senior leadership
Understanding of oncology or rare disease markets, drug development, regulatory processes, and commercial and market access dynamics preferred
Proficient with MS Office tools – particularly PowerPoint and Excel
Track record of driving impact, surfacing risks early, and delivering high-quality work at pace
Travel and Location
On-site in Boston Seaport office at least 2-3 times per week
Travel ~5-10% of the time for meetings/workshops with Global, external conferences, and internal meetings/off-sites
