Our client, a leading middle-market private equity firm, is seeking a Director / Vice President of Strategic Initiatives to partner closely with senior leadership on the firm's highest-priority operational and strategic initiatives.

This is a newly created position designed for someone who thrives in ambiguous environments and enjoys bringing structure, alignment, and execution to complex, cross-functional initiatives. Reporting directly to the firm's Managing Director of Operations, you'll work across virtually every business function, helping leadership design new processes, improve operating effectiveness, and execute strategic priorities that support the continued growth of the firm.

This role offers broad visibility across the organization and significant exposure to executive leadership. Over time, the successful candidate will become a trusted thought partner to senior management, assuming ownership of increasingly strategic work streams and leadership responsibilities.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead high-impact, cross-functional initiatives from concept through full execution and implementation.
  • Partner directly with senior leadership to solve complex business challenges and enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Design and implement scalable processes and governance frameworks for key firmwide priorities, including budgeting, organizational planning, AI enablement, global delivery, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Develop executive-level materials such as presentations, business cases, decision documents, and leadership communications.
  • Facilitate cross-functional discussions, drive alignment across stakeholders, and ensure initiatives maintain momentum and deliver results.
  • Build strong relationships across the organization to understand operating rhythms and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, serving as both a trusted advisor and implementation partner.
  • Over time, take ownership of key operational forums, strategic work streams, and leadership-driven initiatives.
Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking an individual who blends the structured problem-solving mindset of a consultant with the execution orientation of an operator.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in ambiguity, influencing senior executives without formal authority, and quickly establishing credibility in a sophisticated professional services environment.

Qualifications
  • 8–15 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives from strategy through execution.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with senior leadership.
  • Advanced analytical and structured problem-solving skills with a consulting-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent program and project management capabilities with strong organizational discipline.
  • Exceptional written communication and executive presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to influence across functions without direct reporting authority.
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving environments with shifting priorities.
