Overview
The Sr. Business Analyst will support high profile projects with exposure to hospital executives, both clinical and operational, designed to reinforce hospital-wide and department-specific strategic goals and increase operational efficiencies. The role engages in projects spanning operations, clinical quality, inpatient strategy, and staffing optimization.
Responsibilities- Manage projects with support from the Operations Director, using data to derive meaning and guide strategic initiatives.
- Work directly with central operational, clinical and business leaders to identify and analyze gaps in process and performance and guide inpatient focused initiatives.
- Serve as the key member of the Inpatient Operations function supporting problem solving, data analyses, reporting, development of project scope, goals and deliverables that support the organization’s strategic goals.
- Conduct complex data analysis to understand the nature of operations and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Define, develop and implement short- and long-term strategies and plans to meet organizational objectives with direction and support from the Operations Director. Develop reporting to analyze current operations, identify opportunities for improvement, develop project plans, and lead teams to implement improvements.
- Run cross‑functional initiatives to ensure key inpatient hospital goals and objectives (e.g., readmissions, inpatient transfers, length of stay) are met.
- Oversee and coordinate specific and complex performance improvement related projects; provide leadership in project management; gather deliverables, track and analyze status reports, resolve issues, and report on program progress against charter, budget and plan.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders from across the organization to accomplish hospital goals and objectives and track KPIs, maintaining good communication and relationships within clinical and operational departments.

Must be able to work independently and with matrixed teams, manage and prioritize across multiple projects, and be comfortable structuring ambiguous problems. In addition, the candidate should have:
- Interest and expertise in using data to identify opportunities and drive results (primarily MS Excel).
- Confidence and adaptability to tackle complex, unstructured problems.
- Positive attitude and willingness to own all aspects of a project.
- Superb communication skills to distill complicated issues into clear recommendations for administrative and clinical teams.
- Advanced quantitative and critical reasoning skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to navigate competing stakeholder interests.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3-5 years of related experience with a focus on data analysis, problem structuring, project management, strategic planning, or 1-2 years of experience in top Management Consulting firms or clinical operations & analytics experience.
$66,000.00–$96,000.00. The range is based on Boston-area data and is subject to modification based on geographic location.
