External Ventures Manager - Research and Development; Generation Innovations, Investments

About the role

NOVA External Ventures is the Saint‑Gobain unit dedicated to developing strategic partnerships between the Group and start‑up companies all over the world. The External Ventures team serves as a unique interface for start‑ups to create and develop links with all the Group's activities. NOVA is seeking an External Ventures Manager to continue to drive Saint‑Gobain's growth through exploration of external partnerships and strategic investments.

In this role, you will work with Saint‑Gobain business leaders to advance innovation and grow business activities through identifying and engaging with start‑up companies that align with the strategic focus of the business and/or the Group. As part of a dynamic, global team, you will bring the most promising external innovations to the Saint‑Gobain Group and will help our parent company to benefit from access to new technologies, new business models and passionate entrepreneurs.

• Establish a strong network in the startup ecosystem and represent Saint‑Gobain at industry, investor and partner conferences.
• Identify high‑quality startups having the potential to make an impact on Saint‑Gobain's product portfolio.
• Facilitate collaboration between startup companies and SG businesses.
• Conduct due diligence, contribute to deal structure and support negotiation of the contract with prospective start‑up partners.
• Analyze opportunities to develop compelling investment cases.
• Identify and monitor new market trends and advise internal stakeholders accordingly.
• Translate business objectives and strategies of internal units to identify opportunities aligned with current efforts.
• Manage high visibility within the organization, especially with executive teams, and influence business strategy.
• Support NOVA's existing portfolio companies.

• Bachelor's degree with 7+ years experience, or Master's degree with 3+ years experience, or PhD with 1 year experience in Engineering/Science with additional background in Business, Finance or Legal.
• 1+ years of experience in Start‑up, Venture Capital Investor, or M&A (or fields like strategy, consulting, finance, business development, investments, etc.).
• Must possess a body of technical work commensurate with years of experience.

Pay range: $92,000 to $142,000 per year. Base salary may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job‑related knowledge, skills and experience. Eligible for an annual bonus with a target amount of 12% of base salary based on company and individual performance. Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus): $103,040 – $159,040.
