Temporary Program Coordinator
SupervisorExecutive Director
OverviewThe Client seeks a full‑time consultant to cover a leave of absence. The role will primarily be based in the Complex in Allston and reports to the Executive Director. This hybrid position requires a minimum of three in‑person days per week and attendance at all events.
Responsibilities- Partner with the Executive Director to implement a strategy for supporting the broad physical science and engineering entrepreneurial ecosystem.
- Execute programs supporting the broader entrepreneurial ecosystem, such as workshops, office hours, networking events, dinners, fireside chats, and translational research symposia.
- Work with student groups, faculty, and senior administration across the University to identify gaps and opportunities.
- Develop and implement programs to support the broader entrepreneurial ecosystem, including workshops and translational research symposia.
- Support the commitment to broadening the diversity of participants in the regional innovation ecosystem.
- Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) to understand the impact of programs and track KPIs accordingly.
- Work with external organizations to foster partnership opportunities around translation and entrepreneurship, including engagement with startup accelerators/incubators, academic partners, and venture capital.
- Plan and participate in events for internal and external audiences.
- Maintain communication tools such as the newsletter via Mailchimp, the webpage via Wix, Linked In, and Airtable.
- Track tasks for events using project management software ().
- Manage event logistics, including room reservations, catering orders, event space setup, and on‑site guest support.
- Attend biweekly intern check‑ins, take notes, and distribute action items.
- Attend events and activities that may occur in the evenings or on weekends, being on‑site to handle and resolve any event logistical issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- At least 5 years of administrative experience.
- Experience with event coordination and logistics.
- Must be able to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
- Must have a strong attention to detail.
- Must possess a "startup" mentality and be flexible to execute the tasks needed for the program.
- Experience working with diverse populations is desired; background or experience with relevant industries is a plus. Must be creative, proactive, and entrepreneurially minded with a commitment to the mission of the program.
- Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, while leveraging decentralized resources.
- Must have the ability to innovate, think strategically and conceptually.
- Can work effectively with internal and external constituencies in a University environment. Must be motivated to learn and flexible to change.
