• Develop and deploy data analytics solutions across manufacturing platforms and products at Vertex and partner organizations.
• Enable the development of novel analytical capabilities by providing frameworks for the high‑level approach and establishing robust processes for technical and statistical implementation.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to tailor the approach to specific business needs and questions.
• Work closely with process and PAT engineers in MS&T to develop multivariate data analyses, machine learning models, mechanistic models, and simulations for process characterization at multiple scales.
• Partner with development teams to pioneer new monitoring and control approaches, including advanced data analytics, multivariate modeling, and machine‑learning‑driven predictive algorithms.
• Serve as a subject‑matter expert on digital twin initiatives, ensuring modeling projects meet MS&T needs.
• Collaborate within a matrix environment across scientific disciplines and departments to develop data‑science strategy and goals.
• Author, review, and approve technical documentation.
• Assist with troubleshooting pharmaceutical manufacturing operations and online measurements in commercial manufacturing.
• Lead the resolution of quality investigations.
• Support the development of tools and standards for department functions, including process monitoring dashboards and standardized modeling and reporting methodologies.
• Drive best practices for trend analysis and continuous process improvement.
• Telecommuting permitted up to 40% of the time.

• Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field and at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) within regulated pharmaceutical environments.
• Strong communication skills to present complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including senior leadership and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Expertise in statistical and computational methods for process characterization, advanced data analysis, predictive modeling, and automated reporting, including integration with automation platforms.
• Demonstrated experience leading and managing complex projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Proficiency in monitoring process performance, developing control strategies, conducting root‑cause analyses, and supporting investigations to maintain compliance and optimize operations.
• Advanced data modeling and analytical capabilities to extract insights and drive innovation and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
• Experience may be gained during a graduate program; other combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.
• Telecommuting permitted up to 40% of the time.

Pay Range: $100,800 – $151,200 per year. Eligible for annual bonus and equity awards.
