Position: Operations Partner & People Lead (Sr. Administrative Assistant & Team Manager)

At Roche/Genentech, our Product Development Strategy & Delivery (PSD) organization partners across the business to enable the delivery of transformative medicines for patients. We are a global, collaborative community that values operational excellence, innovation, and impact. We are seeking an Operations Partner & People Lead (Sr. Administrative Business Partner & Team Manager) to manage our Boston‑based team of Operations Partners (Administrative Business Partners) and to provide administrative support to our local senior leadership.

This is an on‑site, hands‑on leadership role combining direct people management (30%) with active involvement in complex administrative and business support work (70%).

Location:

Boston (Allston), MA at the Roche Genentech Innovation Center Boston. This position is on‑site and requires presence in the office majority of the time. Relocation benefits are not offered.

Opportunity Team Management (30%)
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of administrative business partners (Operations Partners).
  • Foster a high‑performing, accountable, and collaborative team environment.
  • Manage performance, feedback, and development, and set clear priorities, expectations, and ways of working.
  • Monitor service quality, team capability, and recurring pain points and address any potential gaps.
  • Align team practices with PSD global HQ standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations Leadership on team priorities and complex or sensitive situations requiring alignment or escalation.
  • Drive consistency in how business support is delivered locally, in alignment with global practices to improve workflows, coordination, and overall team effectiveness.
Administrative & Business Support Delivery (70%)
  • Deliver high‑quality executive and administrative support to senior leaders, ensuring accurate, timely, and professional delivery of administrative and business support outputs.
  • Oversee complex calendar management, meeting coordination, travel planning, expense processing, and cross‑timezone logistics.
  • Support a broad range of administrative and business support activities aligned to service offerings, including leadership meetings, forums, off‑sites, and other high‑visibility business activities and events.
  • Prioritize effectively, step in directly to support business needs, and balance responsiveness with sustainable workload expectations.
  • Develop strong partnerships across stakeholders, building trusted working relationships with senior stakeholders and cross‑functional partners (People & Culture, Finance, Procurement, IT, Facilities, Legal/Compliance, Communication).
  • Leverage Roche/Genentech systems and apply AI‑enabled tools to improve team efficiency and productivity.
Who You Are (Required)
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or 10+ years of professional experience.
  • 4+ years experience in executive support, administrative operations, or business support within a complex organization.
  • Handled highly sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Direct people‑management experience, including coaching, performance management, feedback, and development planning.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team while providing hands‑on, high‑level administrative and business support.
  • Experience supporting senior leaders in a fast‑paced, matrixed, and high‑discretion environment; strong judgment, prioritization, and decision‑making skills.
  • Experience managing complex calendars, meetings, travel, events, and competing stakeholder demands; proficient with enterprise collaboration, communication, and productivity tools.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, written, and influencing skills; built and cultivated important relationships inside and outside the organization.
  • Comfortable occasionally supporting business needs outside of standard business hours across global time zones.

  • Experience working in biotech, pharma, healthcare, or another highly regulated industry.
