About the Role
Part‑time House Manager (17.5 hours/week) reporting to the Associate Director of Front of House Operations. The role blends remote administrative planning (40%) and on‑site event execution (60%) within Berklee’s Concert Operations team.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the primary point of contact during assigned events, managing crowd control, troubleshooting patron requests, and serving as liaison for production teams, artists, and security.
- Build detailed show info sheets, manage ticketing scanners, coordinate student usher schedules, and evaluate front‑of‑house procedures to suggest creative process improvements.
- Supervise and guide the student usher staff on a per‑show basis, fostering a supportive, inclusive, and professional growth environment.
- Coordinate venue accessibility layouts for patrons, ensure compliance with ADA standards, manage facility safety regulations, and secure facilities before and after events.
- Maintain flexibility to work a seasonal schedule of nights, weekends, and holidays as dictated by the academic performance calendar.
- 3–5 years of experience in a guest experience or front‑of‑house role in a performing‑arts or theater environment, with some supervisory experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, high level of diplomacy when interacting with touring personnel, promoters, and the public.
- Outstanding organizational skills and ability to remain calm, focused, and solution‑oriented under pressure.
- Tech‑savvy with proficiency in Google Suite/Microsoft Office and a strong interest in learning event systems such as Smartsheet, Etix, File Maker, or When‑to‑Work.
- Absolute flexibility to work a seasonal schedule of nights, weekends, and holidays.
