Position Overview

State Street Investment Management (“State Street IM,” formerly known as State Street Global Advisors or SSGA) is seeking an experienced Project Manager to drive transformation, improve efficiency and enable rapid innovation across our Client Experience team. The role requires a self‑motivated Project Manager with the ability to lead at both strategic and execution levels and to proactively engage stakeholders and deliver results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead project management and coordination of cross‑functional strategic alignment initiatives.
  • Support Client Experience senior leadership in developing and executing OKRs, strategy, target‑state blueprints, and transformation roadmaps.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement and communication across State Street Investment Management and the broader State Street enterprise.
  • Partner with consulting firms and industry research organizations to identify best practices, market trends, and leading client experience products and platforms.
  • Prepare executive presentations, strategic updates, and recommendations to support leadership decision‑making.
  • Lead project calls, governance, steering committee and workstream meetings.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Partner with business, technology, operations, vendors, and external stakeholders.
  • Lead requirements gathering and scope definition activities, ensuring they are documented, prioritized, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Identify project risks, dependencies, assumptions, and constraints.
  • Produce project status reports, executive updates, and steering committee materials.
  • Track milestones, budget, scope changes, and key performance indicators.
  • Proactively drive projects to completion while effectively managing risk, budget, scope, and timeline.
  • Manage projects through initiation, planning, execution, testing, implementation, and post‑production support.
  • Foster innovation by embracing and leveraging effective use of the latest AI tools and shaping meaningful AI use cases that enhance project management.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years working in the investment industry with 2‑5+ years of project management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to function within a fast‑paced, multi‑stakeholder & matrix management environment.
  • Understanding of Mutual Funds, ETFs, and Institutional funds across performance, holdings, accounting, pricing, and analytics data domains.
  • Ability to work independently to ensure plans are implemented completely.
  • Proactive in acquiring information to develop new skills, grasp new material quickly, and apply new information, concepts, and procedures constructively.
  • Articulate, authentic, and credible with flexibility of approach to respond to changing strategies and tactics.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering projects through all aspects of data operations, business requirements analysis, definition, communication, assessment, and validation.
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills at all organization levels.
  • Experience with third‑party vendors and their integration with business applications.
  • Experience working with globally distributed project teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret business and functional requirements.
  • Detail oriented with demonstrated ability to enhance process improvement capabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Solid understanding of waterfall and agile methods; experience with JIRA and Confluence is a plus.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and SQL skills.
Compensation

Salary Range: $80,000 – $140,000 Annual. The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location, the applicable range could differ.
