Position Overview

Emulate is advancing Organ-on-a-Chip technology across disease research, drug discovery, and drug development. Our products enable researchers to model the complexity of human biology and generate insights that go beyond conventional in vitro cell culture methods and animal studies.

We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to help shape and expand Emulate’s portfolio of products and solutions. This role will support products across the customer workflow, which may include biological models, applications, consumables, instruments, software, and data solutions.

The Product Manager will work closely with customers and cross-functional teams to identify market needs, define product requirements, guide development priorities, and support successful commercialization. This is a highly visible role requiring strong business judgment, customer orientation, and the ability to work effectively across scientific, technical, commercial, and operational functions.

The successful candidate will have experience managing complex life science, biotechnology, laboratory, or research products and will be comfortable working across multiple product types and stages of the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain product strategies and roadmaps that align customer needs, market opportunities, and company priorities.
  • Gather and communicate the voice of the customer through customer interviews, market research, field feedback, and analysis of product performance.
  • Translate customer, scientific, commercial, and operational needs into clear and actionable product requirements.
  • Partner with scientific, engineering, software, operations, quality, and commercial teams to evaluate product concepts and guide products from early development through launch and lifecycle management.

  • Develop business cases and product proposals, including market opportunity, customer value proposition, competitive positioning, development requirements, and commercial potential.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the end‑to‑end customer workflow and identify opportunities to improve product usability, integration, reliability, and overall customer experience.
  • Serve as a product subject‑matter resource across the organization and provide product training and support to commercial and customer‑facing teams.
  • Partner with Product Marketing to develop positioning, messaging, launch materials, technical content, and other customer‑facing communications.
  • Partner with Sales, Field Applications, Customer Success, and Support to develop commercialization plans, training resources, and field readiness activities.
  • Monitor market trends, customer needs, competitive products, emerging technologies, and changes within the pharmaceutical and life science industries.
  • Track product performance following launch and recommend enhancements, extensions, corrective actions, or end‑of‑life plans as appropriate.
  • Support portfolio planning and prioritization across products, applications, and customer segments.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, engineering, biotechnology, or another relevant technical discipline. An advanced scientific degree or MBA is preferred but not required.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in product management, product development, applications, marketing, commercial strategy, or a related function within the life sciences, biotechnology, laboratory instrumentation, or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Experience managing or supporting complex scientific or technical products through multiple stages of the product lifecycle.
  • Working knowledge of formal product development and commercialization processes, with experience coordinating cross‑functional teams.
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical research, drug discovery, preclinical development, or life science research workflows.
