OverviewThe Lead Product Manager will be passionate about the Planet Fitness member’s workout and wellness experience and building out digital experiences that support our members’ health and wellness outcomes, such as supporting the member’s in-club workout experience through technology, as well as driving member satisfaction, revenue, and retention through other digital fitness features. The Lead Product Manager is charged with leading high performing cross‑functional development teams, focusing on achieving aggressive growth goals for member engagement and retention.
Working within dedicated PODs, the Lead Product Manager partners closely with Engineering, UX Design, Analytics, Marketing, Operations, and other business stakeholders to bring new product features from concept through launch. The Lead Product Manager is highly execution‑oriented, balancing customer needs, business priorities, and technical feasibility while ensuring teams deliver high‑quality products on time.
This role is ideal for someone who has built consumer‑facing mobile applications within retail, subscription, or digital consumer businesses and enjoys collaborating with cross‑functional teams to solve real customer problems. Experience supporting fitness, health, wellness, or lifestyle applications is highly desirable.
This role follows a hybrid schedule and requires regular, in‑person work at our Boston, MA or Hampton, NH office. Our hybrid model is M/T/W in office and TH/F are optional work‑from‑home. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of one of these locations. Fully remote work is not available for this role.
ResponsibilitiesProduct Execution & Delivery
- Owns execution of the Workout & Wellness product roadmap, delivering new features and enhancements that improve member engagement, workout experiences, and long‑term retention.
- Leads product development from discovery through launch, including opportunity identification, requirements definition, prioritization, sign‑offs, user acceptance testing, launch readiness, and post‑launch optimization.
- Leads and actively participates in Agile sprint ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, to align cross‑functional teams and drive successful product delivery.
