About the Role

Senior Director – Healthcare Provider Strategy & Innovation

We are seeking an experienced healthcare strategy leader to advise C‑suite executives and boards, lead transformative strategy engagements, drive business development, and build enduring client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to CEOs, executive leadership teams, and boards on strategic, growth, innovation, and transformation priorities.
  • Lead enterprise strategy engagements focused on growth, business‑model transformation, market positioning, partnerships, service line strategy, and organizational transformation.
  • Originate and close significant new engagements; build and manage a strong pipeline; lead proposals and negotiations.
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with senior decision‑makers and cultivate long‑term partnerships that generate repeat business.
  • Help clients anticipate disruptive market forces, identify new sources of growth, evaluate emerging business models, and develop actionable strategies.
  • Frame complex and ambiguous problems, formulate compelling hypotheses, and integrate qualitative and quantitative insights into differentiated, actionable recommendations.
  • Oversee major client engagements and maintain accountability for client impact, team performance, project economics, delivery quality, and client experience.
  • Represent the firm through executive presentations, industry forums, thought leadership, and other market‑facing activities.
  • Attract, mentor, and develop high‑performing consulting professionals while fostering an inclusive, collaborative environment.
  • Build relationships across the broader firm to create integrated opportunities for growth.
Required Experience
  • Prior management consulting experience with a focus on healthcare provider organizations.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in healthcare provider strategy (enterprise planning, growth strategy, business‑model innovation, service‑line strategy, M&A, partnerships, provider alignment, transformation).
  • Deep knowledge of the healthcare provider industry and experience serving hospitals, health systems, academic medical centers, integrated delivery networks, physician groups, and ambulatory care organizations.
  • Proven track record in business development: building senior client relationships and originating, expanding, and closing significant consulting engagements.
  • Demonstrated credibility with healthcare C‑suite executives and boards, with judgment and interpersonal skills to serve as a trusted advisor on complex strategic issues.
  • Experience leading complex, multi‑workstream engagements while maintaining accountability for client impact, team performance, economics, and delivery quality.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and communication skills, able to structure ambiguous problems, synthesize quantitative and qualitative insights, and translate ideas into clear executive recommendations.
  • Ability to attract, coach, and develop consulting talent in an inclusive, collaborative culture.
Travel

Travel requirements vary by client and project. Candidates must be willing to travel as needed and may live anywhere in the contiguous United States near a major airport.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range: $235,000 – $275,000; total compensation (including incentive) estimated: $352,500 – $412,500. Eligible for company benefit plans including medical, dental, vision, and other wellness programs. See full benefits details.
