Job Overview

The Strategic Development Coordinator is focused on special projects that will grow DREAM’s capacity to reach new youth. This position is responsible for designing and implementing efficient business systems to enhance organizational effectiveness and accuracy, improve internal communication, and foster stronger connections across all stakeholders.

This role sits within the business office, a team of two full-time staff: the Associate Finance & Strategy Officer and the Business Manager.

This position is ideal for someone interested in nonprofit financial management, data‑driven decision‑making, and building systems that improve organizational outcomes and efficiency.

Responsibilities Finance & Compliance
  • Support program budgeting and financial management, including tracking expenses, analyzing spending trends, and informing future budget planning
  • Research vendors and supplies to support cost‑effective purchasing decisions
  • Assist with audit and compliance preparation through review of financial documentation and maintenance of accurate records
  • Develop and improve financial tools and systems, including templates and administrative software
Data, Research & Process Improvement
  • Evaluate and monitor internal workflows to identify process improvements, streamline operations, and strengthen program quality.
  • Conduct research on best practices in nonprofit financial management and internal systems, recommending and implementing software and tools that enhance organizational efficiency.
  • Build reports, dashboards, templates, and guidelines that support data‑driven decision‑making and transparent operational discussions.
  • Collaborate across teams to integrate new systems, ensure effective resource utilization, and support continuous improvement of program processes.
Training & Organizational Learning
  • Develop onboarding and LMS training modules that introduce new staff and members to organizational tools, workflows, and compliance expectations.
  • Design SOPs and step‑by‑step guides that support consistent use of internal business systems and reinforce high‑quality operational practices.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training materials based on staff feedback and adapt the materials to suit organizational priorities
