Category Management Associate

Salary Range: $64,000 - $70,500 per year

This is a Boston based opportunity with a 4 day in office expectation (Monday - Thursday) with 1 day remote (Friday).

The Category Management team offers a unique opportunity to drive strategy for Wayfair’s largest product categories through tight internal and external partnership. Category Associates own and drive the supplier experience, key initiatives are driven through and owned by you. We serve as ambassadors of the product categories we manage. We are at the forefront as Wayfair redefines the supplier experience as a platform, giving suppliers more data, more transparency, and more control while retaining the high‑touch elements that make working with Wayfair exceptional.

Internally, we leverage a diverse set of cross-functional partners to execute our strategic vision. In a role on the Category Management team, you will be expected to define overarching goals and strategy within your category, problem‑solve, articulate and execute against tactical plans, and manage key business metrics. Members of the team must be able to expertly negotiate internally and externally, while also being effective project managers.

• Drive the overall performance of your supplier portfolio and overall category performance, ultimately driving against revenue and profitability growth targets
• Support the category plan to achieve a best‑in‑class customer experience: strong assortment, competitive pricing, high in‑stock rates, and optimized speed
• Analyze data, trends, and execute key initiatives in support of the above objectives;
  Key metrics include revenue, price competitiveness, availability, conversion, and inventory turns.
• Develop new opportunities for suppliers to expand assortment and grow their businesses.
• Work cross‑functionally by building strong partnerships to create synergies and streamline work streams across merchandising, promotions, marketing, on‑trend product selection, effective pricing and profitability, and operational excellence channels.
• Establish supplier relationships to successfully negotiate a premium customer experience.
• Represent Wayfair as an ambassador in offsite events.

• 0-3 years of transferable experience in a corporate environment, including internship and co‑op experience.
• Bachelor's degree.
• A strong interest in emerging technology and the ability to integrate generative AI tools (e.g. Gemini) into daily tasks to drive efficiencies.
• Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by Wayfair now or in the future. Visa sponsorship includes the following work visas: STEM OPT EAD, H-1B, H-1B1, E-3, O-1, J-1, or TN.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, SQL or GBQ, and data visualization tools such as Google Data Studio (Looker, Tableau, or PowerBI).
