General
Summary:
The Managed Care Contracting Associate Director provides leadership and management oversight of Market Access Contract processes by facilitating pre- and post-deal analytics, negotiation, and administration of Payer, Provider, Trade & Distribution, and Hospital Group Purchasing Organization contracts.
KeyDuties And Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end contract development for payers/providers/trade & Distribution/HGPOs, including pre-deal analytics, negotiations, post-deal analytics, and logging/tracking/reporting through governance, negotiation/redlining, and legal review.
- Develop and improve internal processes/documentation across Finance, Legal, and Market Access.
- Maintain bid/offer calendar and matrix; coordinate contract development/execution status.
- Transition executed contracts to operational teams for implementation/adjudication by outlining key terms.
- Provide business insights for GTN forecasting, contracting, pricing decisions, and business planning.
- Collaborate cross-functionally on contract processing, review, and reporting.
- Assist Account Managers with ad-hoc analysis, planning, and contract performance review.
- Use financial models to verify calculations for business scenarios.
- Advise on contract administration issues, including rebate analysis/payments and dispute resolution.
Skills:
- Finance/accounting/sales/government pricing/contracting experience; understanding of pharmaceutical pricing government programs.
- Highly analytical, detail-oriented; ability to define problems, analyze implications, present results, and implement solutions.
- Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational/project management and polished written/verbal communication.
- Interpersonal skills/customer service mindset; self-motivated; multitask under tight deadlines.
- Deep knowledge of pharmaceutical and managed care industry/market dynamics.
- Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline required.
- Typically 8+ years payer contracting, contract administration and/or analytics experience (pharmaceutical/life sciences or related).
Pay range: $152,000–$228,000; eligible for annual bonus and annual equity awards.
