Assistant Director of Athletic Communications

This externally funded position, reporting to the Director of Athletic Communications and Compliance, will support and develop sports information initiatives within the department andaid in game day management, coordinate game day student workers/staff, facilitate emerging partnership with sports management programs and assist in department coordination.
Essential responsibilities will include:
- To aid and assist the Athleticsdepartment in promotion and coverage for all varsity sports as assigned.
- To develop and manage digital communications/media accounts from the department in support of the Director of Athletic Communications
- Support and direct game day operations
- Facilitate partnership and pre-internship opportunities for sports management
- Additional staff duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
This is a 10-month position working August through May.
Requirements:Our ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and a demonstrated commitment to high academic standards and healthy lifestyles for student-athletes. Candidates must have sports information experience and a passion for the profession of sports information and promotion through social media, web content, video stories, press releases and strategic communications.

Unless otherwise stated above, this is an on-campus position. This is not a remote or hybrid position as employees are essential in order to provide a fully on-campus, residential college experience for our students and the community.
The posted salary range reflects the good-faith compensation estimate for this position. The actual pay offered will be based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and internal equity factors. This is an externally funded position with a salary range of $50,000-$55,000.
