The Role

The ESBP role at Veeva is fiercely customer‑centric—our "customers" being the internal managers and teams they lead. We call ourselves "Employee Success" (ES) because our focus is fundamentally different from traditional Human Resources. • Service Excellence & Trust – Build foundational credibility by delivering frictionless, high‑quality support across core ES processes, helping managers drive excellence and create highly productive teams.
• Strategic Catalyst (The GM Mindset) – Operate as a "business person who does ES". Partner with business leaders and bring a General Manager’s mindset to concepts such as talent density and business velocity. Empower manager independence, guide them to drive their own solutions, and align the right people to the right roles to build a performance culture that drives commercial outcomes.

• Foster Manager Independence – Enable leaders to confidently own the employee lifecycle and act as a partner who enables rather than does the work.
• Defend Business Velocity – Proactively eliminate administrative friction so ES processes don’t slow down other functions; trade off perfection for simplicity and clarity.
• Elevate Commercial Critical Thinking – Support managers in tying their business objectives directly to their talent needs, enabling critical thinking to align the right people to the right work for the right results.
• Provide High‑Impact Support – Offer targeted guidance in employee relations, change management, and all aspects of the employee lifecycle. Embody the Veeva principle of "Care, Notice, Act" to help leaders see around corners and address talent misalignments quickly.
• Operate as a Solutions Consultant – Serve as a "business‑person who does ES," speaking the business language and providing insights that enable leaders to solve commercial challenges through people.
• Support a Culture of Performance Excellence – Help managers build an unwavering performance culture, rigorously leading their teams to execute with speed, accuracy, and quality.

• SaaS, Life Sciences or High Growth Literacy – Must have experience in a high‑growth, Cloud/SaaS or life sciences environment and articulate the value proposition of the company's products or services.
• Commercial Acumen – Demonstrated experience partnering directly with Senior Leaders, General Managers or P&A owners; ability to explain how team structures impact "Speed to Value" and "Product Market Fit".
• Org Architecture – Proven track record of designing or supporting leaders in building "Strategic Talent Moats" beyond headcounts, creating technical and domain expertise needed to win against competitors.
• Data‑Driven Business Thinking – Ability to translate HR initiatives into commercial "So What?" statements and influence metrics such as "Commercial Velocity" or "Customer Success Adoption" through people.
• Outside‑In Perspective – Understand the commercial landscape for the business’s customers and identify external market pressures that may challenge a manager’s job.
