Job Description
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Field Inspector – Rail and Transit to join our team!
What You’ll Be Doing- Perform daily field inspections to confirm work meets approved plans and specifications.
- Prepare daily field reports summarizing progress, inspections, and issues.
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor activities for compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Communicate and help resolve site‑related construction challenges promptly.
- Review the weekly schedule look‑aheads and realistically estimate activity durations.
- Support quality control by documenting non‑conformances and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Collaborate and coordinate with other field inspectors and managers.
- Be willing to work on day/night shifts and weekends as required by the construction schedule.
- Assist with tracking and updating logs for RFIs, NCRs, and other construction documentation.
- Perform administrative duties under the direction of the Construction Manager.
- Contribute to monthly progress reports and schedule look‑aheads under guidance from the Construction Manager.
- Assist the Construction Manager as required.
- Provide support during day/night shifts and frequent weekend shifts under CM oversight of the project construction schedule.
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or construction‑related field, or equivalent construction‑related work experience.
- 5–7+ years of experience in field construction.
- Experience in the construction of large civil/structural and/or industrial projects domestically and/or abroad.
- Comprehensive knowledge of engineering and construction‑related processes and industry practices.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; familiarity with CAD and PC software packages typical in engineering and construction; proven lead‑capability on projects.
- Software skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Bluebeam, Pro Core, Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong oral and written communication; ability to write and edit meeting minutes.
- Amtrak experience is a plus.

Salary Range$35.05 – $61.35
