The Axel Group is partnered with an award winning general contractor in the Greater Boston area that is expanding their multi-family portfolio and seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead ground up residential projects. This is a hands on field leadership role responsible for driving day to day construction activities, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining safety and quality standards, and delivering projects on schedule.
The ideal candidate is a proactive builder who thrives in fast paced environments, takes ownership of their projects, and brings strong trade coordination and leadership skills to the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all onsite construction activities from mobilization through closeout
- Manage daily scheduling, sequencing, and coordination of subcontractors and trades
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to quality standards
- Enforce site safety programs and maintain compliance with OSHA and company policies
- Coordinate inspections, walkthroughs, punch lists, and turnover processes
- Work closely with Project Managers, ownership, architects, and inspectors to resolve field issues
- Maintain accurate field documentation including daily reports, schedules, and progress photos
- Review drawings and specifications to proactively identify constructability or coordination issues
- Drive productivity while maintaining high standards of workmanship
- Foster strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Superintendent experience on commercial or multi-family construction projects
- Proven background running mid- to large-scale residential builds preferred
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and trade coordination
- Experience leading projects from start to finish
- Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and maintain momentum in fast-paced environments
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Working knowledge of construction technology (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project or similar preferred)
