ResponsibilitiesThe Construction Field Manager is responsible for onsite construction observation, communication, and coordination in a Construction Management role, acting as an Owner’s Agent. Responsibilities include observing and reporting on the contractor’s progress and adherence to the project schedule; monitoring and reporting on the contractor’s field labor force; coordinating contractors; taking and documenting detailed measurements for payment; inspecting work for compliance with specifications;
performing quality acceptance testing; notifying the Owner of issues and potential deviations from plans and specifications; and working with the contractor to resolve minor issues without guidance.
- 7+ years of industry experience in day-to-day on-site oversight of a contractor’s labor force, reviewing and approving payment applications, reviewing schedules, enforcing OSHA requirements, developing and implementing site logistics plans, conducting quality assurance inspections, coordinating site testing and inspection efforts, preparing daily reports, and monitoring costs (labor time and materials).
- 7+ years of experience reading and understanding construction plans and drawings and the associated technical specifications; strong understanding of construction means and methods for various construction types.
- 7+ years of experience as a Superintendent or Construction Manager on commercial building sector projects ranging from $5 million to $50 million, managing projects from initiation through completion.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar, or 8 years of equivalent experience with a minimum of 7 years prior relevant experience.
