Role DescriptionSterling Construction is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee complex construction and renovation projects throughout Massachusetts. This role is responsible for managing all field operations, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and in compliance with project-specific standards and requirements.
The ideal candidate brings strong field leadership experience, is comfortable managing active jobsites, and can lead projects ranging from smaller renovations to large, multi-million-dollar builds. The Superintendent will work closely with Project Managers, trade partners, owners, and design teams to ensure high-quality project execution.

- Oversee all day-to-day field operations from project startup through closeout
- Manage subcontractors, scheduling, sequencing, and site logistics
- Enforce safety standards, project cleanliness, and site-specific requirements
- Coordinate inspections and ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations
- Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and construction documents
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure work meets project requirements
- Maintain accurate daily logs, schedules, and documentation using Procore
- Lead daily huddles, weekly look-ahead planning, and toolbox talks
- Coordinate closely with the Project Manager to maintain schedule and cost control
- Communicate effectively with owners, inspectors, architects, engineers, and project stakeholders
- 3+ years of experience as a Superintendent or similar field leadership role
- Experience leading renovation or new construction projects; healthcare or occupied renovation experience is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple work areas or lead a large, complex project ($5M–$15M+)
- Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, sequencing, and scheduling
- Thorough understanding and enforcement of jobsite safety standards
- Familiarity with infection control, phasing, or interim life safety measures preferred, but not required
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
- Experience using Procore or similar construction management software
- Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate clearly with project teams and external stakeholders
- OSHA 30 required (additional certifications preferred)
- Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License preferred
- Degree in construction management or related field preferred, but not required
