The Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting and promoting a safe work environment across all field operations. This role ensures compliance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and project‑specific requirements. The Safety Coordinator will conduct site inspections, provide safety guidance to field teams, assist with incident investigations, and help drive a culture of safety throughout the organization. This is a field‑based position, requiring daily travel to active construction and service sites.
Job Responsibilities Site Safety Compliance- Conduct routine jobsite safety inspections to identify hazards, ensure regulatory compliance, and verify implementation of corrective actions.
- Monitor field activities for adherence to company safety policies, site‑specific plans, and OSHA standards.
- Participate in Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Pre‑Task Plans (PTPs), and daily safety meetings.
- Provide onsite safety coaching and mentorship to supervisors and crews.
- Assist with conducting toolbox talks, onboarding safety orientations, and refreshers as needed.
- Ensure all employees, subcontractors, and visitors comply with PPE requirements and site rules.
- Assist with incident/accident investigations, root cause analysis, and documentation.
- Support the reporting process for near misses, injuries, and property damage events.
- Help track corrective actions to closure.
- Assist in implementing company safety initiatives, audits, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Coordinate with project managers, foremen, and subcontractors to resolve safety concerns.
- Safety program performance – Training completion and near miss reporting.
- Audit and inspection completion – required changes made.
- Accident and incident records – including lessons learned documented.
This position reports directly to the Safety team.
Qualifications- OSHA 30 Construction Certification (required)
- Current First Aid/CPR certification (required)
- Minimum 3 years of construction industry experience (required)
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites daily.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, construction safety practices, and hazard recognition.
