Job Overview
The Construction Administration and QAQC Technical Manager (CAT) is responsible for the on‑site execution of multiple large‑scale projects during the construction phase. The CAT demonstrates construction expertise in all aspects of architecture and interiors projects, including experience in CA project management, and reports to the project Studio Executive or Project Manager.
The CAT acts as the main point of contact on‑site, reviewing or generating shop drawings, bulletins, RFIs, site visits, field reports, change orders, and other CA documents. The role also involves maintaining client relationships, mentoring staff in the CA phase, and reviewing Construction Documents Sets for QAQC under the Director of QAQC.
Major Responsibilities- Deliver projects in construction with minimal oversight.
- Maintain ongoing, positive client relationships and provide regular updates to the Architect of Record and Director of QAQC.
- Lead activities related to construction administration, including attending weekly or bi‑weekly Owner‑Architect‑Contractor (OAC) meetings, reviewing shop drawings, conducting field observations, and managing change orders.
- Ensure CA activities emphasize efficiency, quality assurance, and code compliance.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Provide quality assurance and control.
- Collaborate with owners and contractors to solve problems in a time‑pressure environment.
- Navigate sensitive issues.
- Provide periodic briefings/reports to Studio Leaders or PMs on needs, costs, and recommendations.
- Work with the Director of QAQC to ensure complete and coordinated Construction Document drawing sets.
- Manage CA projects using CUBE 3 Part3 CA Software.
- Minimum of 10 years related experience in architecture and/or construction profession.
- Professional Associates, Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction.
- Delivered at least five large ground‑up buildings in Construction Administration comparable to CUBE 3‑designed projects.
- Strong understanding of local state and municipal building codes.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing large‑scale construction projects and their respective contractors and clients.
- Awareness and experience with the legal environment of construction.
- Ability to work primarily in Revit and Bluebeam; training will be provided.
- Problem‑solving and strong analytical skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong understanding of architectural and/or interior design principles and theory related to project design and construction materials and methods.
- Valid, unrestricted driver’s license and driving record, as deemed acceptable by the firm’s liability insurance carrier.

Salary: $100,000–120,000.
