Responsibilities
- Develop detailed construction sequence for a critical path scope of work.
- Maintain schedule of construction activities as required by the area of supervision to support overall project schedule. Review any deviations to the master schedule with the Project Superintendent.
- Pre-plan daily construction activities that ensure work is installed in compliance with contract documents and project specifications. Interact with design team/consultants as required to ensure compliance.
- Recognize deficiencies in either install quality and/or compliance with contract docs and enforce the remedial action.
- Pre-plan and manage site logistics as required by the area of supervision (i.e. deliveries, crane picks, staging requirements, aerial lifts, etc.)
- Recognize install materials or methods that do not comply with provisions of JMA subcontracts and enforce the remedial actions as required.
- Pre-plan daily construction activities to ensure work is in compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and JMA site‑specific safety protocols
- Detailed NFPA 241 & 4 implementation and documentation.
- FPPM role (designated, on‑site safety role mandated for construction, demolition, and major renovation projects to prevent jobsite fires and ensure compliance with NFPA‑241.)
- Pre-plan daily construction activities to ensure work is in compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and JMA site‑specific safety protocols
- Recognize unsafe work practices and enforce corrective actions as required to comply with OSHA, NFPA, and JMA site‑specific safety protocols.
- Managing and presenting T&M slips for signature only after thoroughly reviewing the trade scope and exclusions to determine if it is extra work.
- Ensure that all required ISD/AHJ inspections are scheduled/logged in a timely manner to maintain workflow.
- Review hold log/allowance log periodically with SPM/PM/Project Super/Cost Engineer to understand monies that are available for slip work/OT etc. Notify all aforementioned of foreseen/upcoming slip work.
- Communicate with PM’s to verify that all pertinent submittals are approved and materials are ordered to ensure work can start per the schedule.
- Verify that all subs under your purview are using the most up‑to‑date documents prior to commencing with any scope of work.
- Implement/enforce all required QA/QC in their specific areas (pre‑pour checklist, pre‑board checklist, etc.)
- 5-10 years of experience within the construction industry as a super or similar role.
- Highly proficient document literacy (has proficient understanding of all details in contract docs to complete any scope within area of supervision.)
- Proficient understanding of the means and methods required to complete any scope within the area of supervision
- Proficient understanding of subcontracts, approval letters, and assumptions & qualifications for any scope within area of supervision
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, and Autodesk Forma
- CSL License
- NFPA Hot Work Certification
- OSHA 30 Certification
At the time of posting this job advertisement, the annual pay salary range for this position in Boston is between $120,000 and $185,000.
