Head of Construction
A privately held real estate investment and development firm with a portfolio of retail and mixed‑use properties is seeking a Head of Construction. This role will oversee active renovation and adaptive reuse projects across the Northeast. This is a highly field‑oriented position serving as the owner's representative, responsible for construction execution, quality control, contractor management, budget oversight, and project delivery.
Responsibilities- Lead day-to-day construction execution across multiple active projects.
- Serve as primary owner-side contact for general contractors.
- Conduct frequent site inspections to ensure quality, workmanship, and adherence to plans.
- Review RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and project budgets.
- Manage schedules, punch lists, project closeout, and warranty items.
- Maintain rigorous standards for historic preservation, adaptive reuse, and high‑end finishes.
- Active Massachusetts Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Prior field experience as a Field Engineer and/or Superintendent with a reputable GC.
- Experience with historic, landmarked, or adaptive reuse projects.
- Strong knowledge of structural systems, building envelope, MEP systems, and luxury finishes.
- Massachusetts CSL (or ability to obtain).
