Lead Estimator

Busy and well established lumberyard in Boston area

The Lead Estimator will be responsible for accurate estimation of materials needed in single‑family and multi‑family projects, according to engineered and designed plans.

• Provide lumber/material estimates.
• Communicate effectively with all organizational levels and builder representatives.
• Provide problem‑solving solutions using building codes and product information.
• Prepare detailed construction proposals from customer blueprints for customer presentation.
• Assist in training and development of other estimators as required.

• Ability to read and understand blue‑prints and interpret building codes.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving skills and ability to multi‑task.
• Ability to learn estimating software and strong computer skills.
• Effective communication skills with customers, builders, peers, and management.
• Self‑management; works well under little supervision.

• Knowledge of building materials, construction industry, and retail lumber sales, and at least 2 years of experience in related field.
• Working knowledge and experience using AutoCAD or estimating software is preferred.

$52,000 to $62,000 annually.
