A well-established, family-owned heavy civil contractor is looking to add an experienced Superintendent to oversee complex utility and infrastructure projects throughout Southeast Massachusetts. The company has a strong backlog, an excellent reputation in the public works market, and has recently completed a successful transition to third-generation ownership.
This is an opportunity to join a growing contractor with long-term stability, strong field resources, and a healthy pipeline of municipal infrastructure work.
The Role:You’ll oversee field operations on technically challenging public infrastructure projects, leading crews, subcontractors, and project schedules while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and production.
The immediate assignment is a $17M municipal pump station project involving significant underground utility work, deep excavation, and civil infrastructure. Future projects will include a variety of public utility and heavy civil work throughout the region.
Responsibilities- Lead all day-to-day field operations on heavy civil and utility projects.
- Coordinate crews, subcontractors, equipment, and project logistics.
- Manage schedules while driving productivity and maintaining project milestones.
- Ensure safety, quality, and compliance with project specifications.
- Work closely with project management to resolve field issues and maintain budgets.
- Coordinate inspections, utility tie-ins, and municipal stakeholders.
- Mentor foremen and field personnel while maintaining a positive jobsite culture.
- Deep utility installation (water, sewer, drainage)

- Sitework and civil infrastructure
- Experience overseeing above-ground building components alongside civil work is a plus.
- 8+ years of superintendent experience within heavy civil or utility construction.
- Proven success managing public infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of underground utility installation and sequencing.
- Ability to coordinate self-perform crews and subcontractors.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- OSHA 30 preferred.
