Job Description

Railroad Construction Company Inc. is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our team. If you're passionate about construction, eager to gain hands-on experience, and ready to grow your career, we want to hear from you!

What You'll Do:

As a Project Engineer, you'll work closely with Project Managers to help plan, organize, and execute heavy civil construction projects. This hybrid role offers a dynamic mix of fieldwork and office-based responsibilities, giving you well-rounded experience and plenty of room to advance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Champion a safety-first culture by actively participating in the implementation and enforcement of the Company's safety program
  • Interpret construction drawings and project documents
  • Create field sketches and construction details
  • Inspect job sites for quality and progress
  • Provide technical support to field crews
  • Supervise, train and mentor Field Engineers
  • Coordinate material deliveries and subcontractors
  • Track materials, report progress, and help manage project budgets
  • Handle RFIs, submittals, and project documentation
  • Attend project meetings and provide updates
  • Perform quality control and assurance checks
Requirements

To be considered, preferred applicants should present the following:

  • 7+ years of construction or engineering experience
  • Willing to work in varying outdoor conditions, travel as needed, and be flexible with hours (nights/weekends/on-call)
  • Tech-savvy, with Microsoft Office proficiency (experience with VISTA, Heavy Job, Blue Beam and/or AutoCAD)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
